Rashid urges PTI to clear ‘misunderstandings’ with military

Former interior minister and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, while condemning the criticism of the Pakistan Army on social media, apparently acknowledged the “misunderstandings” of the PTI with the military, saying that they should be resolved.

“Propaganda is going on against our great army under a conspiracy and all this is happening on the direction of those busy in polishing boots… they conspire while sitting in London,” he said during a press conference in Peshawar on Wednesday.

He said that if talks can take place with those who were cursing the army in Gujranwala and London then we should also do the same. “This is our army and we are with them,” he added.

Criticising Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Rashid said that the person who is facing a charge-sheet took oath as prime minister of the country. “Now, dollars will pour into the country and foreign delegates would be visiting Pakistan on regular basis.”

The former interior minister said that puppets have been brought to the helm of affairs to stop Imran Khan’s independent foreign policy. “Even if the allies had not stopped supporting us, our rule would have still halted,” he added.

He questioned the credibility of the PTI dissidents, saying how will they face the masses now.

Rashid claimed that global forces were against Imran Khan and they can get him murdered, saying the former premier’s life is in danger.

The former minister predicted that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would soon come back to Pakistan. “First, he will go for Umrah then after getting cleansed, he will come back to the country and will be given ‘new platelets’,” he added.

He said that Imran Khan would soon come to Islamabad. “I am giving you time till June 15… Imran Khan will give call [to come to Islamabad] you have till June 29,” he warned.
